Hello!
My name is Christian and I’m a freelancer based in Stockholm, Sweden. I try to diversify my work and are basically active in three different fields; Programming, Theatrical tech and Electronic engineering. I have multiple years of professional experience in all fields.
Programming
I was basically born behind the computer screen. I was playing around with HTML and Klick & Play in the late 90s. I got my first own computer in ‘99, an old Pentium 120MHz, which happened to have a copy of Borland Turbo C++ 3.03. This is what got me started in “real” programming. This was also the year when I first came in contact with Linux. My programming skills could be divided into two categories. A simplification of my programming skills could be to divide them into the following two categories;
Full stack web development
I have in-depth knowledge in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/Node.js, CSS, HTML. I have worked with tools, frameworks and techniques like React, webpack, Drupal, Lumen/Laravel, XML/XSLT, Bootstrap, UIkit, Backbone, to name a few.
Low level programming
I love working close to the hardware. Either on a Linux system, or a microcontroller running FreeRTOS or sometimes even barebone. I work mostly in C/C++. I do have knowledge in assembly. I have worked with X86, AVR, Arm Cortex M. When I’m writing GUI applications I prefer to use Qt/QML.
Of course I do have a lot of other relevant skills, including but not limited to; Linux, Git, Docker, microservices, Linux system administration, scripting (Bash, LUA, etc) and network equipment management.
Theatrical tech
I work with all kind of technical equipment commonly found around a stage. I prefer to work with light.
Electronic engineering/troubleshooting
Most of my construction work is done on an advanced hobby level. Almost all of my designs are centered around a microcontroller, most recently STM32. I love constructing things related to theatrical tech. I design my PCB’s in KiCad.
My proficiencies around construction of analog electronics are somewhat limited.
I also do a lot of CAD/CAM in FreeCAD.
My professional experience is mostly related to troubleshooting, repairing and servicing equipment for the entertainment industry and lab equipment.
